Flail mowers equipped with a manual shift system are able to work up to 60-70 cm beyond the rear wheels of the tractor. In fact, the protrusion of the tool from the tractor allows it to better approach trees, making these machines more suitable in areas that require edge trimming and superior manoeuvrability.
Unlike tractor flail mowers with hydraulic shift, shredders with a manual shift system - in addition to being more cost effective - require the operator to manually set the desired distance for his tool, getting off the farm vehicle if necessary.
