Pool cleaning robots are automatic devices designed for cleaning the pool floor, walls and, in some cases, the waterline of swimming pools, significantly reducing manual work and the time required to keep the water clean and clear. These devices operate autonomously, moving around inside the pool to collect debris, leaves, sand and other impurities efficiently and consistently.

AgriEuro offers three main types of pool cleaning robots, designed to suit different pool sizes, frequency of use and required level of automation. Each solution features specific characteristics related to power supply, movement system and dirt collection method.

• Battery-powered pool robots: designed for the automatic cleaning of floors and walls without a continuous electrical connection, they use rechargeable batteries that provide freedom of movement and ease of use. They are suitable for medium-sized domestic pools and are particularly practical for seasonal use thanks to the absence of an electrical cable in the water;
• Electric pool robots: designed for intensive and continuous cleaning cycles, they use an electric motor, autonomous suction system and high-capacity internal filters to collect debris and fine residues. They provide consistent performance in large in-ground or above-ground pools and are suitable for frequent use throughout the swimming season;
• Hydraulic pool robots: directly connected to the filtration system, they use the suction force generated by the pump to move around and collect dirt from the pool floor. They represent a simple solution with reduced technical maintenance, suitable for domestic above-ground pools and moderate-intensity use.

A pool cleaning robot is used to keep the pool clean by automating the collection of solid debris found on the floor, walls and along the waterline. This type of equipment is designed to reduce manual intervention and limit the use of chemical products, improving filtration efficiency and overall water quality.

Examples of use include:

• Daily cleaning of the floor of a family in-ground pool, with the collection of leaves and sand;
• Removal of debris from a communal pool after storms or strong winds;
• Automatic maintenance of an above-ground pool in a second home, without constant supervision;
• Complete sanitisation of an agritourism swimming pool between guest groups;
• Frequent cleaning of an outdoor hot tub positioned beneath deciduous trees.

Cordless pool robots are suitable both for frequent use, thanks to their ease of operation and compact models, and for professional or intensive use in contexts involving large pools or continuous operation.

The robot for above-ground pools is an autonomous device which, once immersed in the pool, performs complete cleaning cycles thanks to a motorised traction, suction and filtration system. It is powered through an external transformer connected to the domestic mains supply, reducing the voltage to 12 or 24 Volts for safe operation in water. The robot is equipped with an internal control unit that manages navigation logic and orientation sensors.

Operation takes place in several stages:

• Immersion and start-up: the robot is manually placed into the pool and started using an integrated button, remote control or dedicated app on smart models;
• Movement: the traction system, consisting of rubber wheels or PVC/rubber tracks, allows movement across flat or sloping floors and along the walls, even up to the waterline;
• Active cleaning: rotating brushes (made of PVC or sponge for delicate surfaces) scrub the floor and walls to remove algae and light deposits;
• Suction and filtration: dirt is sucked in by an internal pump and deposited into an integrated cartridge or bag filter, with different filtration levels (from 100 to 20 microns);
• End of cycle and maintenance: at the end of the programme (generally between 60 and 180 minutes), the robot switches off automatically; the filter must then be removed, emptied and rinsed under running water.

Some models are equipped with gyroscopic sensors, accelerometers or “CleverClean” technology to optimise the cleaning path and reduce energy consumption. On more advanced models, it is possible to select different cleaning cycles (floor only, floor + walls, full cleaning) or schedule cleaning via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

Compared to other systems such as manual vacuum cleaners or hydraulic cleaners connected to the skimmer, electric robots do not depend on the pool pump and provide higher performance, reduced wear on the filtration system and greater operational versatility.
