The poultry plucker machines are devices used to remove plumage from poultry, making the process much faster than the manual process.
They allow to remove the majority of plumage from the animal in few seconds, significantly simplifying the production in both professional and private environment.
They consist of a large steel basket with special plastic picker sticks.
By activating the machine, the central body starts to rotate, making the animal inside it rotate as well, which by repeatedly coming into contact with these picker sticks, allows easy and immediate removal of the plumage.
The ideal working time of these machines is about 8-10 seconds; by working the product longer, there is a risk of ruining it.

Before using the plucking machine, it is essential to properly prepare the animal for its processing. In fact, there are fundamental preparatory steps for a correct procedure
First, the animal must be stunned through the use of special tools, called stunners, which use an electric shock to momentarily immobilise the animal, which must then be killed and exsanguinated through the use of special instruments.
Afterwards, the soaking, i.e. immersion of the animal in hot water at a temperature of about 62-65°, must be carried out; this step will make it much easier to remove the plumage from the skin.
Finally, the last stage before the plucking is the evisceration.
