The Blue Bird 2-stroke post hole borer is a heavy-duty tool suitable for a large variety of works in both construction and agricultural field. In agriculture, earth augers are a great and effortless solution to plant fruit trees, make fence bases or bore fence posts, stack concrete poles in the vineyard and for many other applications.

This model mounts a Kawasaki 2-stroke engine, characterised by an exceptional weight/power ratio and which unloads all its power through the sturdiest cast gearbox on the market with high-impact hardened steel internal gears in grease bath.

Different types of auger bits available, from 8 cm to 25 cm in diameter, and one auger bit extension for extra drilling depth.

Kawasaki engine

The Kawasaki TJ 45 E is a 45,4 cc, 2-stroke, air-cooled and horizontal shaft engine. This type of engine is renowned for having an excellent power/weight ratio, which makes it particularly suitable for professional and long working sessions.

It features a single cylinder and is able to develop a maximum power of 1.90 Hp at 7500 rpm, with a torque of 2.18 Nm at 5000 rpm.

It is equipped with a centrifugal clutch and diaphragm carburettor. Very easy to operate thanks to the recoil starter with self-recovery, the cold-start primer pump and the air regulation system.

It also mounts a lightened piston, dynamically balanced flywheel and Kawasaki patented layered exhaust system.

The engine is lightweight and is compact in size. Its dry weight is 3.9 Kg, its dimensions are 19x26x26 cm.

Equipped with a 0.9 L fuel tank, the Kawasaki TJ 45 E engine operates with an oil-fuel mixture.

Gearbox by Blue Bird Industries

This post hole borer mounts the sturdiest cast gearbox on the market, built with internal gears in high-impact in-case hardened tempered steel lubricated in grease bath.

This aspect is very important when purchasing a post hole borer, as the gearbox is continuously subjected to high stresses and its correct functioning determines the durability and reliability of the entire machine.

The gearbox reduces the engine rpm to a 1:40 ratio by running the auger tip up to 160 rpm

Controls and other features

This earth auger is among the lightest on the market: its weight is around 10 Kg. A very important feature that greatly facilitates the extraction of the auger from the ground.

Extremely easy to use, in fact all the controls are located on a single handle.

It features a sturdy round tubular frame that allows for both one and 2-operators use.
