The Blackstone BP Hydro series horizontal axis tractor flail mower with hydraulic shift is the ideal product for shredding and cutting stalks, pruning residues, vine shoots and any other organic material present on the surface of the soil.

Rear collecting rods series (rakes) particularly suitable for shredding pruning or any other crop residues. It's a very important tool, as there is not a single shredder on the market that is truly capable of effectively grinding pruning without leaving medium to large fragments.

Any shredder is set at a working height of about 3/4 cm from the ground. This means that the flail mower tends to leave intact all the branches and residues lying on the ground, as the hammers often does not work close enough to the ground to be able to "grasp" them. Also, the tractor's wheels tend to crush or even bury these residues on the ground.

The clamps perform a real 'raking' action, extracting from the ground and lifting even those residues buried by the wheels, dragging them along. In this way, no branches or residue will remain on the ground. Each hammer flail rotates at a very close distance to a single brush rake, so, it picks up the branch lifted by the rakes and take it to the grinder; after that, the branch passes through the action of the counter-knives that shred it completely. At the end of the process, there will be hardly any pruning residue still intact throughout the area subjected to the work of this flail mower.

ASSEMBLY: the brush rakes must be adjusted to a height that allows them to work very close to the ground, placed in a "free" position. This means that they must be able to swing vertically, thus adapting to any roughness and unevenness of the ground, thanks to their inclination towards the rear of the machine.

A distinctive feature of this flail mower is its rear opening.

This has a double function: it allows the rear discharge space to be adjusted using simple screws, and also simplifies maintenance by allowing the operator to perform checks in specific areas of the machine

These are not the standard smooth hammers, but rather stronger and heavier hammers than the norm. They are able to work effectively on grass, straw and more, where there are solid bodies, such as wood and stones, thanks to its three sturdy "chisels" which tend to "break" and bore material more easily.
