Stiga Tornado 398 M lawn tractor

An ideal lawn tractor for the user who prefers to cut grass by dumping it sideways on the ground. With its modern and functional look, the Tornado 398 M also supports mulching through the use of the mulching kit.

Powered by a powerful 352 cc Stiga engine, which delivers 6.5 kW of power at maximum revs. The recommended surface area is up to 4500 m2.

Mechanical transmission with lever, the tractor has 5 gears plus reverse gear.

Cutting deck 98 cm wide, with 7 different positions available, adjustable via a lever easily accessible from the driver's seat. The heights vary from a minimum of 25 to a maximum of 80 mm.

A reverse cutting function is also available.

The blades are engaged by means of an electromagnetic clutch at the push of a button. This ensures greater safety for the operator and greater convenience for the vehicle.

The Stiga tractor is equipped with an ergonomic Stiga steering wheel and an adjustable seat, also by Stiga, for greater comfort while driving.

Cutting systems

1- SIDE DISCHARGE (standard equipment): the most traditional, the lawn tractor cuts, leaving the grass on the lawn.

System recommended for: large expanses of land, those who do not need to harvest, those who do not mow frequently and need to cut overgrown grass, for which the harvesting or mulching system is no longer effective.

2- MULCHING (for free): this grass mowing system allows crushing grass clippings and dropping them on the ground. The resulting grass particles are so small, they will be barely noticeable on the lawn. This eliminates the problem of its disposal (reducing any effort and shortening the time-saving). Moreover, grass clippings will break down into nutrients and water for the lawn (grass is 80% water) and will thus ensure a perfectly balanced biological cycle. However, it is worth remembering that, to ensure the greatest mulching results, the lawn should be irrigated, and the grass needs cutting at least once a week. Converting the machine from a cutting system to the other one is very easy.

Conversion: simply place the cap in the grass outlet under the deflector to activate mulching in no time at all

Cutting Deck

The lawn tractor has a 2-bladecutting deck with a width of 98 cm.
