Dal Degan VOLKAN EXTRA 400L - Tractor-Mounted Mist Blower for Spraying - APS 71 Pump

Dal Degan VOLKAN 400L mist blower is ideal for small and medium orchards and vineyards. The polyethylene tank consists of two parts, the main one with a filter and a lid and a small tank with a tap for handwashing.

The main feature of this model is nebulisation.

This model is suitable for every treatment, which can also be performed by the similar model SOFIA.

It is recommended for pergola vineyards, hazelnut groves or olive tree groves.

The size of the fan is the most important element of a mist blower, as it determines:

• the power of the air jet (the greater the fan diameter, the greater the amount of air it produces, the greater the ability of the machine to carry out the treatment at greater heights or distances)
• the fineness of the atomisation (the greater the power and quantity of the air, the greater the mini-particles of liquid will be disaggregated)
• working at lower tractor engine speeds (to achieve the same performance as a fan with a smaller diameter)

CAUTION: It is strongly recommended that you carefully check the lifting capacity of your tractor, taking into account the total weight of the machine when fully loaded.

The mist blower’s expulsion volute, which produces a large quantity of air, concentrates the jet towards the nozzle placed at the end of the diffuser.

The faster and larger the fans are, the better the atomisation result will be and the less the product will be dispersed in the air.

The air flow is so concentrated that together with the large flow, it is able to nebulise the water into fog, to make it uniformly cover the plant without loss of product.

The propeller with 8 blades is adjustable in seven positions, from 20 to 45°.

Thanks to the front suction, dry leaves and debris are not vacuumed by the fan and do not affect the air flow.

Another advantage of the front suction is that the outgoing air flow is more balanced and better distributed on both sides.

Stainless steel nozzle holders are divided into two parts, a left one with 5 jet nozzles and a right one with the other 5 jet nozzles.

Each brass jet nozzle with anti-drip features 3 positions, which can be changed by simply rotating the nozzle manually on its axis (three clicks, one for each position):

• nozzle with larger hole (higher liquid delivery)
• central position = closed jet
• nozzle with smaller hole (lower liquid delivery)

The high-pressure Comet APS 71 pump has three membranes and a compact size suitable for spraying, weeding and pest control using pesticides and plant protection products.

The parts directly touching the liquid are made of anodized aluminium, resistant to corrosion. The valve has a stainless steel seat and plate.

The two side valves feed the right and left sectors of the fan, respectively.

Control lever for opening or closing the control unit.

This means that you can also activate the two sectors separately, e.g. activate only the jets on the right side or only on the left side (e.g. when you are working on the edge of your field).
