Product introduction

The Ceccato Olindo 400 flail mower is an entirely Made in Italy equipment, designed for professional use.

A sturdy, heavy-duty machine built to withstand considerable stress. Double 4+4 mm housing and special oscillating barrel roller bearings.

Hammer flails weight: 1.2 Kg.

Sheet thickness: 6 mm.

Electrically balanced rotor, adjustable idler roller and adjustable skids as standard.

Suitable for large tractors with power between 40 and 80 Hp.

The machine is completely robot-welded and built with top-quality components and a very high level of attention to details.

Built with all the necessary safety device sin compliance with the current regulations.

It is equipped with 4 drive belts and a special peep-hole for checking the oil level along the transmission shaft that connects the pulley to the gearbox.

  • The reversible flail mower is suitable for tractors with front or rear attachment. It can only be applied in the rear position for tractors with reversible drive.

Reversible system

The reversible flail mower is suitable for tractors with front or rear attachment. It can only be applied in the rear position for tractors with reversible drive.

To use the flail mower in one direction or the other, simply remove the retainers of the three-point hitches and place them in the desired direction by converting the flail mower.

Recommended for shredding grass, bushes, brambles and branches. It is ideal for clearing open fields in general.

It finely shreds grass and twigs, while simultaneously rolling the turf. Thanks to the high number of rotor revolutions (540 rpm) and the number of hammers (hammer flails), it allows reducing the wave impact of the grass cover and performing excellent shredding operations.

Rotor, reinforced hammer flail supports, side bearings

The highly-tick rotor features a 40 cm diameter. This makes it suitable to withstand long years of working operations, keeping its sturdiness against the accidental impacts that may occur.

Additionally, the electronically balanced rotor is mounted on side steel supporting bars that are provided with barrel roller bearings, renowned to be 10 times more resistant compared to the standard ball bearings.

Side belt drive and gearbox unit

Large gearbox in oil bath, the machine is equipped with the best gearboxes. The housing is made of cast iron, while the internal gears are made of hardened steel. Also fitted with a lubricated extension with a very useful peep-hole for checking the oil level.

Double housing and counter blades

The flail mower is equipped with a highly-thick double 4+4 mm housing.

These two steel plates are in contact and laid one on top of the other, making the machine much more sturdy compared to classic flail mowers with a standard frame.

This flail mower is thus truly indestructible even under the most adverse conditions.

It withstands stones (not too large), shrubs, brushwood and undergrowth with even large diameter branches without the slightest difficulty.

Recommendations for Use - Tractor-mounted Fixed Flail Mowers

To ensure correct operation, a longer service life and safe working conditions, it is essential to use the tractor-mounted flail mower in accordance with the instructions set out in the user manual and the machine’s technical specifications. Incorrect use may result in premature wear of components, reduced performance or damage not covered by the warranty.

Before starting work, always check that the tractor is compatible with the flail mower by verifying the required power, hitch type and intended operating conditions. Correct matching of the machine and the tractor ensures optimum performance and prevents the transmission from being overloaded.

  • Use the flail mower exclusively on suitable surfaces: the machine is designed for grass shredding, wild vegetation, plant residues and materials compatible with the machine’s category. Avoid contact with unintended objects such as stones, metal, plastic or other foreign bodies.
  • Adjust the working height correctly: maintaining an adequate distance from the ground reduces the impact on the cutting units and limits excessive stress on the machine’s structure.
  • Do not operate the machine where there are hidden obstacles or unsuitable ground conditions: ditches, stumps, exposed roots, loose stones or uneven ground can cause sudden impacts and damage to the cutting parts or transmission components.
  • Do not use the flail mower for operations other than shredding: the machine must not be used for earthmoving, ground levelling or other applications not specified by the manufacturer.
  • Always adjust the forward speed to suit the working conditions: excessive speed can reduce the quality of the shredding, increase vibrations and subject the machine to stresses greater than those for which it was designed.

Use of the power take-off (PTO):

The tractor’s power take-off (PTO ) must be used in accordance with the rotational speed specified by the flail mower manufacturer. An incorrect rotational speed may compromise the machine’s operation, causing overheating, accelerated wear or excessive stress on mechanical components.

When attaching and detaching the flail mower, the power take-off must always be disengaged and the tractor switched off. It is also necessary to check that the PTO shaft is correctly installed and has sufficient clearance to move freely while working.
