The Intex 26676 sand filter with saline chlorine generator is one of the leading filter products for above-ground pools, providing an unrivalled price/performance ratio. The 6-function control valve of the Intex sand filter allows choosing among: filtering, backwashing, rinsing, recirculating, draining and closing function.
In order to operate the Intex sand filter, quartz sand must be used; in fact, if properly washed, it can last about 5 years before replacement. Quartz sand with a silicon content of 99% and a grain size of 0.4-0.8 mm is recommended.
The Krystal Clear Saltwater System chlorine generator combines a new and unique two-stage technology in order to sanitise pool water. The first stage produces a slight amount of chlorine, not harmful to bathers, which is produced when natural salt is added to the pool water, thus producing clearer and crystal water. The second stage is achieved through the E.C.O. process. (electro-catalytic oxidation), which produces a sanitising substance able to reduce contaminating organisms such as bacteria and algae.
The combination of these oxidants and natural chlorine results in a more effective and healthier sterilisation of the pool, reducing chlorine presence by about 60%. This last stage is so effective that it keeps the water more sanitised.
