The RC-T2 ridger is a piece of equipment designed for creating and maintaining furrows and ridges of soil along row crops. The two-element structure allows it to operate on parallel rows, maintaining a constant distance between the working points.
The ridger is adjustable.
It is typically used in horticulture and small-scale farming, where soil ridging is required for potatoes, maize or similar vegetables.
The operation of the RC-T2 disc ridger is based on the opposing action of the discs which convey the soil towards the base of the plant as they penetrate the soil. As the machine moves forward, the discs rotate due to contact with the soil; the material is lifted sideways and accumulated at the centre of the row. Adjusting the position of the discs along the frame allows the working width to be adapted to the distance between crops, thereby varying the volume of soil moved.
The main technical features of the RC-T2 ridger are:
- 150 cm frame: steel structure with a long horizontal bar; allows adjustment of the distance between the two working elements;
- Two-element configuration: two independent units; allows work on double rows with separate adjustments;
- 35 cm diameter discs: concave steel discs; facilitate penetration into the soil and the progressive displacement of the soil;
- Three-point hitch: compatible with standard tractors; ensures stability while moving forward and ease of attachment;
- Weight of 61 kg: low weight; facilitates use with low-horsepower tractors without overloading the lift;
- Compatibility with 15–25 HP: suitable size for compact tractors; allows for working on small surfaces with good manoeuvrability;
