Description

Pramac PMi 4500 Inverter Power Generator

The Pramac PMi 4500 generator provides stable and safe power, ideal for sensitive electronic devices. Thanks to inverter technology, it maintains a constant voltage, reducing damage to equipment. Suitable for domestic, professional and outdoor use, it is equipped with a Stage V-compliant OHV petrol engine and electric or recoil start.

The "Economy" mode adjusts the engine speed to optimise fuel consumption and reduce noise. With a 12-litre tank, it offers up to 9.7 hours of autonomy at 50% load ( Eco mode). The compact design (41.5 kg) makes it easy to transport thanks to the kit with wheels and handles.

It comes with an ATS panel that allows the generator to be activated automatically in an emergency.

The control panel includes voltage, frequency, autonomy and fuel indicators, with two SCHUKO 230V 16A IP44 sockets, a 12V 6A DC socket and a wireless remote control for remote start and stop.

The distinctive features of the Pramac PMi 4500 include:

  • Maximum power of  4200 W: suitable for a wide range of applications, both domestic and professional.
  • Economy mode: optimises fuel consumption and reduces noise by adjusting the engine speed according to the load.
  • Compact and lightweight design: with dimensions of 57x40x54 mm and a weight of 41.5 kg, it is easy to transport and store.
  • ATS ready and wireless remote control: for remote control and integration with automatic switching systems.
  • Complete control panel: includes voltage, frequency, autonomy and fuel level indicators, as well as SCHUKO and DC sockets.

These features make the Pramac PMi 4500 a reliable choice for those who need an efficient and practical power generator.

Inverter technology:
The generator produces electricity with constant frequency and voltage, thanks to an electronic converter that separates the input voltage from the output voltage. It uses a permanent magnet generator and regulates the engine speed according to the load, reducing consumption and noise, especially with medium-low loads. This system guarantees reliable power quality for sensitive equipment such as computers and medical instruments.

Silenced generator:
The silenced design makes the generator suitable for campsites, motorhomes, homes, apartment blocks, and other situations where noise-free electricity is required.

Main applications:
Ideal for powering sensitive electronic equipment, such as computers, medical devices and measuring instruments, which are sensitive to voltage and frequency fluctuations.

The generator is not designed to be incorporated into a photovoltaic or solar panel system for energy production, nor for recharging or maintaining batteries in such systems or other types of systems of any kind; such use may seriously damage the generator.

WARNING: all power generators such as this one, belonging to one of the lowest product levels of the PROFESSIONAL level (reference to the product level rating scale used on this website) must not be operated for more than 3-4 hours continuously, in order not to compromise the medium to long-term life of the alternator and other components due to overheating or wear. The same applies if the generator is used daily or frequently. In all these cases, we recommend choosing generators classified as at least PROFESSIONAL on the product level scale used on this website.

Main Features

The ATS control panel is compatible with the Pramac PMi 4500 and PMi 6500 series of petrol generators

The ATS automatic transfer switch must be connected to the mains supply and the generator.

This allows for automatic compensation for power cuts.

This is an essential application in situations where a power cut could cause financial loss, material damage or serious disruption.

We recommend that you have the AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCH connected to your domestic supply by a qualified electrician.

The generator is shipped in its original packaging and comes with an instruction manual and a generator connector

A 6-metre connection cable is included with the panel.

How To Choose the Right Power for a Generator?

As for the power required, based on intended use, we have provided a handy table to help you navigate power consumption, starting coefficient and wattage.

The best approach is to first identify which appliances you need to power with the generator, and then carry out a simple calculation, as explained below, to determine the power output the generator must be capable of delivering.

Power required = Power consumption of the device × Starting coefficient

The starting coefficient is an essential characteristic of any electrical appliance. It indicates how much the power consumption increases during start-up and therefore helps determine the actual wattage required to start the device.

Example: Air compressor (1500 watts) × Starting coefficient (2) = 3000 watts. Therefore, look for a generator with a power rating in watts equal to or greater than the result obtained (*)

Check the power consumption of your appliance in the user and maintenance manual or on the rating plate attached to it.

WARNING: the table is for guidance only. Using the above formula, you can easily calculate the power a generator must supply to connect and operate specific products, and thus identify the model best suited to your needs. Please remember that to operate electronic equipment (computers, televisions and all devices fitted with an electronic circuit board), you must purchase a generator equipped with an inverter (which stabilises the output current).

Power Generator – Recommendations and Areas of Application

This inverter generator is fitted with an ELECTRONIC CONTROL BOARD to stabilise the output current, producing a near-perfect wave form.
This makes it particularly suitable for certain applications, but unsuitable for others.
Some examples of APPLICATION AREAS: powering all types of electronic equipment (as these are fitted with electronic control boards and therefore require a very stable current to avoid the risk of damaging these boards), household appliances, kitchen and domestic equipment, lights and lamps; in short, they are specifically designed for strictly domestic use, or for holiday and leisure use (in campers, boats, etc.)

Some examples of AREAS OF NON-APPLICATION: construction site equipment, workshop equipment, DIY equipment, welding machines, equipment of any kind fitted with brush motors (which, in the event of brush wear, can cause current surges, potentially damaging the generator’s electronic control board). Therefore, for all the equipment on this list—typically used for work, construction or craft purposes—an inverter generator is too delicate and therefore unsuitable; consequently, you should opt for a conventional generator, not one with an inverter board, but equipped with a standard alternator featuring heavy-duty stator and rotor, which are better suited to powering this equipment.

We would also like to remind you that the inverter generator is designed for NON-PROFESSIONAL use and is therefore suitable only for occasional (infrequent) use. Operating sessions must not exceed 3–4 continuous hours (longer sessions would cause the alternator to overheat or wear out). If you require a generator for frequent use (for example, once a week), you should opt for a different type of generator, specifically designed for frequent use, and more precisely a PROFESSIONAL generator or, even better, an INDUSTRIAL generator.

The inverter generator is not designed to be integrated into a photovoltaic or solar panel system for energy production, nor for the charging or maintenance of batteries in such systems or other types of installations. Such use may seriously damage the generator, affecting the alternator, the engine and the electrical components. All photovoltaic systems require a generator for INDUSTRIAL use (and not domestic use such as this one), specifically designed and manufactured for this purpose. NO WARRANTY IS PROVIDED for generators used in a photovoltaic system, as this constitutes IMPROPER USE OF THE EQUIPMENT.
