Description

Geotech SA 510 Circular Saw Log Cutter

The Geotech SA 510 circular saw bench is an excellent machine for log cutting. It is an effective and efficient machine for cutting wood, with a considerable reduction of fatigue for the user. This log cutter is also very practical to be transported as it features a trolley with wheels to be easily handled.

It is a performing log cutter powered by a powerful 3000W single-phase electric motor.
As well as ensuring high performance, this circular saw on stand is really safe as it features a safety carter that prevents splinters from hitting the face or the hands of the operator.

The Geotech log saw bench on stand is practical and effective. It features a 505 mm diameter disc blade made of hardened steel, with a 30 mm hole with 40 teeth.

The circular steel blade, combined with the engine power, allows a maximum log cutting capacity of 170 mm.

The work platform can accommodate logs from 250 to 1000 mm long.

The blade can reach a speed of 2800 rpm.

A practical and sturdy circular saw bench, compliant with all safety standards for log cutting operations. Compared to other models on the market, the Geotech log saw bench is also very convenient to move thanks to the wheels with which it is fitted.

This machine combines ease of use with efficiency, and it will result extremely useful for all those users who want to cut small logs quickly and practically with a significant reduction in fatigue. Thanks to the convenience of the machine, placed on its stand, this log saw bench is also suitable for beginners.

Recommendations for use - Log Saws

Recommendations for use

To ensure the maximum service life and efficiency of the machine, the following instructions must be strictly observed. Failure to comply with them constitutes improper use, carrying a serious risk of damage to the product (this type of damage is not covered by the warranty).

  • Intended use of materials: The machine is designed exclusively for cutting logs. It is strictly forbidden to feed any other type of object or material into the cutting system. In particular, the following material must never be cut, including but not limited to:
  1. Contaminated wood: logs with excessive amounts of soil, stones or foreign metal objects (nails, screws, staples, barbed wire or remnants of fencing).
  2. Building materials: timber planks soiled with concrete, bricks, plasterboard or composite panels.
  3. Synthetic and metal materials: plastic pipes (PVC, PE), metal profiles, light alloys or electrical cables.
  4. Inert materials: rocks, glass, ceramics or mineral materials.

Impact with unsuitable materials could deform the blade, damage the flange/shaft and cause vibrations that damage bearings and supports.

  • Suitability of extension leads: Avoid using unsuitable extension leads. Given the  high motor power, it is essential to ensure a constant power supply. Undersized cabling causes voltage drops that prevent the motor from reaching the correct speed, leading to abnormal overheating and permanent damage to electrical components. Use only cables with a minimum cross-section of 2.5 mm². This requirement is essential to correctly manage the high current absorption, particularly during start-up and during cutting operations under load, thereby preventing voltage drops and motor overheating.
  • Log dimensions: do not exceed the maximum capacities. Do no cut logs larger than Ø 170 mm or outside the 300–1000 mm range length to prevent motor overloading.
  • Load stability: the section of log or branch must be positioned so that the grain is perpendicular to the cutting disc.
  • Never use the machine to cut more than one log or branch at a time: Stacking multiple pieces can cause sudden, uncontrolled movements of the material against the cutting disc, resulting in a risk of deformation or breakage of the disc.
  • Cutting feed and motor load: Do not force the log through the cut to the point where the blade’s rotation slows significantly or stops. Stalling or prolonged operation under excessive load causes high absorption and abnormal overheating, posing a risk of permanent damage to the motor and electrical components (e.g. starting capacitor).
  • Mains voltage stability: Do not connect the machine to electrical circuits where other heavy loads are operating simultaneously (e.g. air compressors, welding machines or air conditioners). Continuous voltage fluctuations can burn out the capacitor or the internal components of the electric motor.
  • Cleaning the ventilation openings: Ensure that the motor’s ventilation grilles are always free from accumulations of sawdust or dust. A restricted air flow prevents heat dissipation, leading to deterioration of the windings’ insulation.
