The Gardena Smart SILENO Sense Robot uses GNSS satellite technology to define its working perimeter, without the need for a physical perimeter wire.
To ensure proper operation, it is essential that the garden meets certain conditions regarding satellite signal visibility.

Charging station position: the charging station must be positioned in an area free of obstacles, on a flat surface, with an open view of the sky of at least 90°. A space of at least 6 metres in diameter is recommended, free of objects that could block the satellite signal.

The station can be placed inside or outside the area defined by the virtual perimeter, but the connection point must be inside, with a distance that can be set between 70 and 250 cm.

Before installation, it is necessary to update the firmware and have the battery at least 45% charged.

The contact strips are optimised for a better connection between the robot and the station.

Once the charging base has been installed, you can define the virtual cutting perimeter and the attachment point (between 70 and 250 cm).

Initial mapping is done using the joystick in the Gardena app, which allows you to add waypoints to the map (minimum distance between points is 30 cm).

These steps are simple and intuitive: just follow the instructions in the Gardena smart app.

Subsequently, it will be possible to make changes to the virtual perimeter directly in the app, without repeating the initial procedure.

The app also guides the user through the initial setup of the cutting height, mowing times and mowing areas, automatically adapting to the selected preferences.

The robot can store up to 10 different mowing areas, with different times and cutting systems for each zone.

It is possible to define No-Go zones (restricted areas), such as those around trees and stones, making sure to delimit them in an anti-clockwise direction and at 5 cm between one point and another.

Near edges, the robot activates its rear blade and performs a circular manoeuvre that minimises residual grass along the boundaries.

The robot has two cutting modes, both selectable via the app:

1. Along the edge of the mowing area: the robot performs edge cutting only along the boundary of the mowing area.

2. On collision: whenever the robot detects an obstacle, it cuts the grass along the edge of the object.

The SILENO Sense robot's 3-blade cutting disc is off-centre to facilitate cutting along the edge. The cutting edge on both sides and the ability to rotate in both directions increase the durability of the blades.
