Pisa Charcoal and Wood-fired Barbecue

Heavy-duty handcrafted large size charcoal barbecue

Cooking surface: 60 x 35 cm

These BBQ models come with a "heavy-duty structure” entirely built with 1.5 mm thick steel sheets. This makes them extremely resistant to the wear and tear action of fire over the years.

The embers support grate is 3 mm thick.

The first models, built in 1987, are still in use today...

The BBQ structure (unlike the main handicraft productions) is covered in a special high-temperature paint, which guarantees higher resistance than normal (except for the areas directly affected by the fire).

When fuelled by charcoal, the barbecue is ready for cooking in just 4 minutes.

The BBQ can also be fuelled with wood. Furthermore, thanks also to the non-stop cooking system that uses the separation of the brazier from the cooking area, it is possible to always have hot embers available to cook a large number of dishes for your guests.

The barbecue can therefore be fuelled with wood and charcoal at the same time

Wood combustion chamber

Sturdy 12 mm thick wood combustion chamber

The front protection plate made of sturdy perforated sheet metal allows:
- the passage of heat for cooking with spit roaster, to be purchased as an additional accessory
- perfect oxygenation of the flame, facilitating combustion
- it does not allow combustion residues, such as ash, charcoal, etc., to pass through and lay on the food being cooked.

Cooking surface

  • Cooking surface: 60x35 cm
  • Sturdy stainless steel grid built with a special wide channel system which allows to convey fats and oils released during cooking to channel them towards to the ladle on the corner. The system is implemented by means of a very slight slope of the cooking surface (not perceptible to the user), which causes the channeled fat to drain into the ladle.
    The advantages are drastic reduction of fats drainage on coals, thus minimising the smoke generated by fats burning. Cooking quality is improved and made healthier, as less fumes reach the food.

Optional accessories

Heavy-duty chimney charcoal starter: ensures quick and easy lighting of briquettes or charcoal. It features a charcoal supporting grid on the inside and a practical heat-resistant handle on the outside. It works by filling the top with charcoal and placing it on a burning piece of paper or on a firelighter. Once the charcoal is all lit, simply empty the chimney charcoal starter into the brazier.

2 spits electric rotisserie: in sturdy wrought iron structure for longer life. Entirely manufactured in Italy, it features 2 steel skewers with meat spit forks. This model mounts 2 electric motors with 220 V of power at 2.4 rpm, compliant and certified, which are capable of supporting about 3 Kg of meat per skewer.

Griddle/soapstone: perfect for cooking steaks, fish fillets, octopus, squids or vegetables. Highly resistant to fire and high temperatures and can store twice as much heat as refractory bricks. Ideal for cooking meat on it directly and bringing it to the table while still cooking; the high heat retention will ensure that the dish not only does not get cold, but also keeps browning. Perfect for special meat cuts such as T-bone steaks.
