The self-propelled TRITONE MAXI GX390 is a high-quality petrol-driven wood chipper , ideal for shredding large quantities of vegetable waste up to a maximum diameter of 7 cm.

This powerful wood chipper is powered by an 11.7 hp Honda GX390 engine, providing excellent performance.

Equipped with a large loading hopper, the TRITONE MAXI facilitates the insertion of branched vegetable waste, and an unloading mouth positioned at a height of 1.20 metres.

The cutting part is efficiently designed with two front knives, two counter knives and eight chopping knives. Functioning as a wood chipper, it reduces brushwood and twigs to a manageable size, ideal for composting.

Crushing the material significantly reduces the time needed for their decomposition. The machine has a large steel hopper, capable of handling bulky branches and fronds without the need for pre-processing.

Its large capacity allows a considerable amount of material to be inserted at a time. The mechanical self-propulsion system, driven by the engine itself, facilitates the movement of the wood chipper. This system includes a dedicated sling puller and an angle reducer.

It is also equipped with two 330 mm Tractor wheels with iron rims and tyres with diagonal notches, and a practical wheel lock. This petrol-driven wood chipper is a MADE IN ITALY product, built according to the logic of large-scale wood chipper. This translates into optimum performance in terms of cutting, speed and reliability, while complying with EC regulations on safety at work and the latest stringent EU regulations.

Warning: Like all wood chippers and garden shredders, it is not suited for shredding grass, leaves, pine needles, etc. (it is intended to shred branches, but it can also grind leaves, needles and others)

Garden shredders intended use:
- The wood chipper must grind only green branches and not dried ones (which would limit its shredding capacity and lead to quick deterioration of the blades);
- The branches must be preferably long, smooth and not knobby (otherwise the cutting diameter would be reduced);
- The branch cutting diameter indicated is the maximum, so it is advised not to shred larger branches. In this case, it would be better to purchase a shredder with a larger branch cutting diameter;
- The cutting diameter can vary according to the amounts of wood (e.g: oak, olive, plum and peach are hardwood and can reduce the cutting capacity of the wood chipper);

The machine of large-sized is able to process even very bulky branches and leaves, without having to pre-shred them. Thus, it also features a higher capacity that allows entering a large amount of material at a time.

• UNIFIED HOPPER:

It considerably simplifies and speeds up the operations.
It eliminates the constant operation of dividing the material (before shredding) between the large, woody sections and the smaller, green sections, each of them must be placed in their own hopper (an operation required by all standard shredders equipped with 2 hoppers).

• SELF-FEEDING:

Once introduced the branches into the hopper, the shredder pulls them inside the shredding unit autonomously, thanks to the hopper vertical design. Thanks to the gravitational force, the mechanism can pull inside the branches to be shredded. WARNING: the branches must not be too bulky because this may limit the functionality of the machine.

WARNING!

The engine is PROVIDED WITHOUT OIL. Please carefully check the oil level as indicated in the instructions manual before starting the unit.

It is recommended to use the oil provided for free for the first oil replacement and not for the first starting.

The central rotor is composed of 2 steel flywheels firmly assembled together.

These then represent a sturdy unit (the main component of the garden shredder) of truly superior size, strength and performance.

This rotor is therefore one of the sturdiest and largest rotors on the market.

Equipped with 2 large shredding blades. They carry out pre-processing, dissecting the material in the hopper into coarser fragments.

Equipped with 8 hardened steel blades (or hammers) rotating at high speed. Thanks to their centrifugal motion, they reduce the material in small wood chips.

The outer shredding chamber (the largest and sturdiest in its category) is proportionate to the rotor it includes. It is wide and features a round-shape. It guarantees excellent productivity, as well as the durability of the system.

The machine body is 100% made of steel. No plastic has been used.

Brand-new reinforced highly sturdy shredding blades: 2 large shredding blades. They carry out pre-processing, dissecting the material in the hopper into coarser fragments (exceptional thickness of the 2 blades and fastening with no less than 4 hardened bolts).

- Hammer detail:: 8 hardened steel shredding blades (or hammers) rotating at high speed. Thanks to their centrifugal motion, they shred the branches in small wood chips.

- Detail of the counter-blades:: Main feature that makes it number one in its class and makes it a shredder with truly professional features and performance. These, once the hopper is mounted, are in a very close position to the two rotating cutting blades attaches to the rotor shown above. Thus, the "Blade + Counter-blade" system makes shredding operations easier and more efficient, reducing motor effort at the same time.

- Detail of the sieve: This model of garden shredder is almost the only machinery equipped with the removable SELF-CLEANING SIEVE, which allows the wood chips to be discharged exclusively once perfectly shredded by the 8 hammers. The sieve is equipped with 2 support bolt that allows it to be assembled or disassembled from the discharge chute opening. By disassembling the grid, coarser fragments will be produced, maximising the hourly output of the shredder. By assembling the sieve, on the other hand, will maximise the shredding capacity of the machine, producing smaller wood chips.

INTERMEDIATE TRANSMISSION WITH 2 REINFORCED BELTS.

This transmission gives the machine an extraordinary sturdiness, protecting both the motor and the internal shredding rotor from any kind of internal shock or kickback.

In case of a rotor clogging caused, for example, by a too large branch, stones, etc. There is no risk of breaking the drive shaft and the motor, but the intermediate belt will slip or at least will break down.

Much longer service life than the standard systems still used by all manufacturers on their petrol-powered models, where the engine is directly connected to the shredding unit.

Equipped with anti-vibration rubbers and pneumatic wheels for easy transport.

It allows discharging the wood chips directly into a box.

The total weight of this product is an impressive 138 kg.

Production: 5-6 cubic-metres/h.

The wood chipper can be folded for easy transport or storage.

It is recommended to tighten the self-locking bolts supplied with the hopper before starting the machine.

Two built-in rear pneumatic wheels facilitate the transport.

Furthermore, a third wheel with a steering handlebar is placed in the front part of the shredder to ensure the Operator high manoeuvrability.

Recommendations for use

To ensure the maximum efficiency and durability of the wood chipper,  the instructions below must be strictly followed. Failure to do so constitutes improper use and carries a serious risk of damage to the product (such damage is not covered by the warranty).

• DO NOT use the wood chipper to shred:

1. Pine needles
2. Grass or piles of leaves
3. Wet garden waste
4. Whole pallets or parts thereof
5. Construction waste
6. Wood and/or roots covered in soil or stones.

These materials, which lack a woody texture, tend to form a paste that blocks the shredding chamber and the discharge chute, overloading the engine. However, branches with leaves may be fed into the machine, provided they are preferably straight in shape.

• DO NOT feed in pallets or construction waste: ensure that the material contains no nails, screws, iron wire or concrete debris. Impact with foreign objects will irreparably damage the cutting rotor and may result in the violent ejection of metal fragments.
• DO NOT shred wood and/or roots covered in soil: the abrasive action of soil and sand on the cutting blades at high speed causes immediate wear. The cutting blade loses its sharpness within minutes, making extraordinary maintenance necessary. Furthermore, the likely presence of stones, even small ones, would inevitably damage the wood chipper.
• Pay attention to wood freshness: the specified maximum cutting diameter refers to ‘green’ wood, i.e. fresh branches recently cut from the tree (which is the ideal time to process them in the wood chipper) and of medium consistency. For very hard types of wood (e.g. oak, olive, plum, peach), the wood chipper’s actual cutting capacity may decrease proportionally to the hardness of the wood. Furthermore, the declared maximum cutting diameter should be considered as an exception  during use and not the standard operating conditions, as it would mean operating the wood chipper continuously at the limits of its capabilities.
• DO NOT shred dry or seasoned wood (e.g. old posts, beams, sticks): the wood chipper is designed to process freshly cut branches. Dry wood is significantly harder than fresh wood and can damage the cutting blades by creating nicks or causing them to lose their sharpness quickly, as well as placing severe strain on the transmission mechanism. 
• DO NOT feed material in when the engine is off or running at low revs: start the wood chipper and always bring it up to full speed before feeding in the material. Similarly, never switch off the engine while there is still material inside the cutting chamber.
• DO NOT FORCE THE FEED: the wood chipper must pull the material in automatically (self-feeding). If the branch does not advance, the blades may be worn or the branch may be too knotty. Forcing material into the hopper could cause the cutting rotor to jam and result in serious damage to the transmission.
• DO NOT operate the wood chipper with worn or damaged blades: under these conditions, shredding occurs by ‘impact’ rather than by ‘cutting’. The resulting strong vibrations and stresses can cause serious structural damage to all components of the wood chipper.
• Fuel storage:

1. Use approved tanks
2. Check that metal tanks are clean and free from corrosion
3. Store fuel in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
4. Use the petrol within 30–60 days
5. If necessary, use a stabiliser to extend its shelf life

If the machine is to be left unused for a prolonged period, empty the fuel tank or use fuel containing a stabiliser additive.
