TRITONE MAXI is a garden shredder with electronic start-up, suitable for shredding large quantities of vegetable waste with a maximum diameter of 7 cm.

Powered by Honda GX390 11.7 hp engine.

Equipped with a large loading hopper to facilitate the insertion of branched vegetable waste and a discharge chute placed at 1.20 m height. The cutting part consists of two front knives, two counter-blades and eight chopping knives.

The wood chipper / shredder allows to reduce the weeds and twigs to an easy to handle and suitable size for composting. The crushing of the material reduces the time required for its decomposition.

The machine is able to process even very bulky branches and leaves, without having to pre-shred them. Thus, it also features a large capacity that allows entering large volumes of material at once.

Warning: Like all wood chippers and chipper, it is not suited for the shredding of grass, leaves, pine needles, etc.… (It is made to shred branches, but it can grind the leaves, needles and certain other vegetation may be attached to them)

Shredders intended use:
- The shredder must grind only green branches and not dried ones (which would limit its shredding capacity and lead to rapid deterioration of the blades);
- The branches must be preferably long, smooth and not knobby (otherwise the cutting diameter would be reduced);
- The branch cutting diameter indicated is the maximum, so it is advised not to shred larger branches. In this case it would be better to purchase a shredder with a larger branch cutting diameter;
- The cutting diameter can vary according to the amounts of wood (e.g: oak, olive, plum and peach are hardwoods and can reduce the cutting capacity of the wood chipper)

• UNIFIED HOPPER:

It considerably simplifies and speeds up the operations.
It eliminates the constant operation of dividing the material (before grinding) between the large, woody sections and the smaller, green sections, each of them must be placed in their own hopper (an operation required by all standard shredders equipped with 2 hoppers).

• SELF-OPERATING:

Once introduced the branches into the hopper, the shredder pulls them inside the grinding unit autonomously. (See the video section). This is possible thanks to the new almost vertical hopper. Assisted by the the force of gravity, the mechanism manages to pull in the branches to be ground. WARNING: the branches must not be too bulky because this may limit the functionality of the machine.

WARNING!

The motor is SUPPLIED WITH OIL INSIDE , the oil level as per the instruction manual should still be checked before starting the engine.

It is recommended to use the free oil for the first change and not for the first ignition.

The central rotor consists of 2 steel discs, firmly coupled to each other.

These represent an extremely sturdy unit (which constitutes the main part of the shredder) of truly higher size, strength and performance.

This rotor is therefore among the most sturdy and smallest on the market.

Equipped with 2 large cutting blades. They carry out pre-processing, breaking down the material in the hopper into coarser fragments.

Provided with 8 chipping blades (or hammers) in tempered still rotating at a high-speed. Thanks to their centrifugal motion, they reduce the branches in small pieces.

Provided with 2 counter-blades, which ensure higher performance.

The outer shredding chamber (the largest and most sturdy in its class) is proportionate in size to the rotor it contains. It is very large and rounded shaped. It guarantees excellent productivity, as well as the durability in time.

The machine structure is 100 % made of steel. No part of the machine is made of plastic.

New reinforced super-resistant cutting blades: 2 large-sized shredding blades. They carry out pre-processing, dissecting the material in the hopper into coarser fragments (exceptional thickness of the 2 blades and fastening with no less than 4 hardened bolts).

- Focus on the hammers: 8 rotating high speed shredding blades or hammers in tempered steel. With their centrifugal motion they shred the wood in very small fragments.

- Focus on the counter-blades: Main feature that makes it number one in its category and makes it a shredder with truly professional features and performance. These, once the hopper is mounted, are in a very close position to the two rotating cutting blades attached to the rotor shown above. Therefore, the "Blade + Counter-blade" system makes shredding operations easy and efficient, decreasing at the same time the strain on the engine.

- Focus on the sieve: This model is one of the few equipped with the SELF-CLEANING SIEVE, attachable and removable, which allows the shredded material to be discharged exclusively once perfectly shredded by the hammers. The sieve is equipped with 2 support bolts which allow assembling or disassembling it at the opening outlet. By disassembling the grid, coarser fragments will be produced, maximising the hourly output of the shredder. By mounting the sieve the shredding capacity of the machine will be maximised, producing finer fragments.

INTERMEDIATE TRANSMISSION WITH 2 REINFORCED BELTS.

This transmission gives the machine an extraordinary sturdiness, protecting both the engine and the internal grinding rotor from any kind of internal shock or kickback.

In the event of a blockage of the rotor caused, for example, by too large a piece of wood, stones, etc., there is no risk of breaking the drive shaft and thus throwing the engine away, but there will be a slippage or at most a breakage of the intermediate belt.

This lasts much longer than the traditional systems still used by all manufacturers with an internal combustion engine directly connected to the shredding apparatus.

Recommendations for use

To ensure the maximum efficiency and durability of the wood chipper,  the instructions below must be strictly followed. Failure to do so constitutes improper use and carries a serious risk of damage to the product (such damage is not covered by the warranty).

• DO NOT use the wood chipper to shred:

1. Pine needles
2. Grass or piles of leaves
3. Wet garden waste
4. Whole pallets or parts thereof
5. Construction waste
6. Wood and/or roots covered in soil or stones.

These materials, which lack a woody texture, tend to form a paste that blocks the shredding chamber and the discharge chute, overloading the engine. However, branches with leaves may be fed into the machine, provided they are preferably straight in shape.

• DO NOT feed in pallets or construction waste: ensure that the material contains no nails, screws, iron wire or concrete debris. Impact with foreign objects will irreparably damage the cutting rotor and may result in the violent ejection of metal fragments.
• DO NOT shred wood and/or roots covered in soil: the abrasive action of soil and sand on the cutting blades at high speed causes immediate wear. The cutting blade loses its sharpness within minutes, making extraordinary maintenance necessary. Furthermore, the likely presence of stones, even small ones, would inevitably damage the wood chipper.
• Pay attention to wood freshness: the specified maximum cutting diameter refers to ‘green’ wood, i.e. fresh branches recently cut from the tree (which is the ideal time to process them in the wood chipper) and of medium consistency. For very hard types of wood (e.g. oak, olive, plum, peach), the wood chipper’s actual cutting capacity may decrease proportionally to the hardness of the wood. Furthermore, the declared maximum cutting diameter should be considered as an exception  during use and not the standard operating conditions, as it would mean operating the wood chipper continuously at the limits of its capabilities.
• DO NOT shred dry or seasoned wood (e.g. old posts, beams, sticks): the wood chipper is designed to process freshly cut branches. Dry wood is significantly harder than fresh wood and can damage the cutting blades by creating nicks or causing them to lose their sharpness quickly, as well as placing severe strain on the transmission mechanism. 
• DO NOT feed material in when the engine is off or running at low revs: start the wood chipper and always bring it up to full speed before feeding in the material. Similarly, never switch off the engine while there is still material inside the cutting chamber.
• DO NOT FORCE THE FEED: the wood chipper must pull the material in automatically (self-feeding). If the branch does not advance, the blades may be worn or the branch may be too knotty. Forcing material into the hopper could cause the cutting rotor to jam and result in serious damage to the transmission.
• DO NOT operate the wood chipper with worn or damaged blades: under these conditions, shredding occurs by ‘impact’ rather than by ‘cutting’. The resulting strong vibrations and stresses can cause serious structural damage to all components of the wood chipper.
• Fuel storage:

1. Use approved tanks
2. Check that metal tanks are clean and free from corrosion
3. Store fuel in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
4. Use the petrol within 30–60 days
5. If necessary, use a stabiliser to extend its shelf life

If the machine is to be left unused for a prolonged period, empty the fuel tank or use fuel containing a stabiliser additive.
