Description

BullMach ZEUS 180 B&S Garden Shredder

The BullMach ZEUS 180 BSE petrol wood chipper, equipped with a powerful frame, is an excellent solution for the removal of brushwood and twigs, cutting them to a size that is easy to handle and suitable for composting. The precise shredding of the material helps speed up the composting process.

This machine is equipped with a large hopper, made of sturdy steel (60x55 cm), able to gather big branches and twigs without the need for a preliminary working. Its large capacity allows the insertion of a wide range of material in a single time.

The BullMach ZEUS 180 BSE garden shredder has been designed to handle operations on branches and twigs with a diameter up to 95 mm.

The machine's most important element is the sturdy steel rotor, which ensures limitless practical durability over time. The cutting diameter therefore particularly suitable to easily work green branches up to 95 mm. With larger branches, we suggest to insert the material very slowly. This system enables the machine to cope successfully with challenges by gradually introducing the material.

The cutting disc features a 600 mm diameter.

The machine ensures an extraordinary working capacity, being able to tackle long and demanding working session by constantly shredding large-diameter wood at a professional level. High hourly output, over the standard petrol wood chippers consisting of rotor with blades and hammers.

The BullMach ZEUS 180 BSE wood chipper is equipped with a Briggs & Stratton XR2100 420cc petrol engine, able to deliver up to 13.5 HP at 3600 rpm.

Make sure to carefully read the instructions manual before starting the unit.

Nominal Power: 13.5 Hp( 3600 rpm)

* The correct term would be "Commercial” Power, meaning the classic standard of definition of power officially used until a few years ago by all leading engine manufacturers. This technical feature is the one indicated in the main sales channels, even if it is higher than the real power of the engine.

Rated power: 12.06 Hp (at 2600 rpm)

* It refers to the real power of the engine. This is the power indicated as official in the engine instructions manual.

Central Rotor and Shredding Chamber

The shredding chamber, easily accessible by unscrewing 5 practical screws, allows safe and easy inspection for all maintenance operations.

Inside the shredding chamber is a set of components that are fundamental to the operation of the machine, such as:

Two cutting blades of large dimensions: they carry out a pre-processing step, cutting the material present in the hopper into smaller-sized fragments

There are two counter blades, which perform the work of counter knives to the four main blades on the rotor, implementing a scissor-like effect at the first branch cut.

The rotor is also equipped with 22 hardened steel shredding hammers (divided into 6 holders, 4 of 4 and 2 of 3 respectively), they perform a centrifugal operation by reducing branches into small fragments;

In order to improve the quality of the shredded material and increase its efficiency, a chopping grid was installed, equipped with specially inclined control blades to ensure optimal shredding of the branches placed in the hopper.

Unified Hopper with automatic dragging roller

The hopper made of sturdy steel is generously sized, boasting a considerable opening of 60x55 cm (height by width).

In order to guarantee easy access and loading of materials, the hopper can be easily opened by removing the specially positioned bolts in the connection with the shredder. This solution not only simplifies operations, but also speeds up their completion.

A safety lever system has been implemented to ensure an immediate stop of the operation in case of emergency situations, giving the machine an additional level of protection.

The exhaust chute of the wood chipper features a full 360° rotation, thanks to a practical crank system, which allows the chute to be oriented in any desired direction.

In addition to its versatility in terms of orientation, the structure of the chimney is characterised by a height that allows it to be placed directly inside tractor or truck trailers, greatly simplifying the unloading of the chipped material.

Furthermore, the tilting adjustment system allows for a precise control on the projection distance of the wood chips.

An immediate shutdown system to ensure a timely response to emergency situations

Belt Transmission

It is the only machine of its category with intermediate 2-belt drive transmission

. This feature gives high sturdiness to the unit, protecting both the engine and all the shredding system from every possible internal hit or kickback.

Higher durability over time compared to the standard system of all the manufacturers of petrol-powered machineries, as the transmission is directly connected to the shredding cutting system.

In case of a rotor clogging caused, for example, by a too large branch, stones, etc. there is no risk of breaking the drive shaft and the motor, but the intermediate belt will slip or at least will brake down.

Belt tensioning system through screw

Main Features

The front support stand is very large and provides stability to the machine. This allows distributing the weight over a greater surface area, thus preventing the garden shredder sinking into soft grounds.

The wood chipper is also provided with large pneumatic wheels (16x8.0-7) that ensure easy transport.

It features a comfortable and practical tow hitch. Towing ball size 50 mm

6DM18 - 12V 18Ah battery

Recommendations for Use - Petrol Wood Chippers

Recommendations for use

To ensure the maximum efficiency and durability of the wood chipper,  the instructions below must be strictly followed. Failure to do so constitutes improper use and carries a serious risk of damage to the product (such damage is not covered by the warranty).

  • DO NOT use the wood chipper to shred:
  1. Pine needles
  2. Grass or piles of leaves
  3. Wet garden waste
  4. Whole pallets or parts thereof
  5. Construction waste
  6. Wood and/or roots covered in soil or stones.

These materials, which lack a woody texture, tend to form a paste that blocks the shredding chamber and the discharge chute, overloading the engine. However, branches with leaves may be fed into the machine, provided they are preferably straight in shape.

  • DO NOT feed in pallets or construction waste: ensure that the material contains no nails, screws, iron wire or concrete debris. Impact with foreign objects will irreparably damage the cutting rotor and may result in the violent ejection of metal fragments.
  • DO NOT shred wood and/or roots covered in soil: the abrasive action of soil and sand on the cutting blades at high speed causes immediate wear. The cutting blade loses its sharpness within minutes, making extraordinary maintenance necessary. Furthermore, the likely presence of stones, even small ones, would inevitably damage the wood chipper.
  • Pay attention to wood freshness: the specified maximum cutting diameter refers to ‘green’ wood, i.e. fresh branches recently cut from the tree (which is the ideal time to process them in the wood chipper) and of medium consistency. For very hard types of wood (e.g. oak, olive, plum, peach), the wood chipper’s actual cutting capacity may decrease proportionally to the hardness of the wood. Furthermore, the declared maximum cutting diameter should be considered as an exception  during use and not the standard operating conditions, as it would mean operating the wood chipper continuously at the limits of its capabilities.
  • DO NOT shred dry or seasoned wood (e.g. old posts, beams, sticks): the wood chipper is designed to process freshly cut branches. Dry wood is significantly harder than fresh wood and can damage the cutting blades by creating nicks or causing them to lose their sharpness quickly, as well as placing severe strain on the transmission mechanism.
  • DO NOT feed material in when the engine is off or running at low revs: start the wood chipper and always bring it up to full speed before feeding in the material. Similarly, never switch off the engine while there is still material inside the cutting chamber.
  • DO NOT FORCE THE FEED: the wood chipper must pull the material in automatically (self-feeding). If the branch does not advance, the blades may be worn or the branch may be too knotty. Forcing material into the hopper could cause the cutting rotor to jam and result in serious damage to the transmission.
  • DO NOT operate the wood chipper with worn or damaged blades: under these conditions, shredding occurs by ‘impact’ rather than by ‘cutting’. The resulting strong vibrations and stresses can cause serious structural damage to all components of the wood chipper.
  • Fuel storage:
  1. Use approved tanks
  2. Check that metal tanks are clean and free from corrosion
  3. Store fuel in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
  4. Use the petrol within 30–60 days
  5. If necessary, use a stabiliser to extend its shelf life

If the machine is to be left unused for a prolonged period, empty the fuel tank or use fuel containing a stabiliser additive.
