The Honda "GX" series is highly professional and has been developed for heavy work in the field of construction, agriculture, generators, welders etc., characterised by great durability and reliability.
Many other air compressors on the market, on the other hand, mount the Honda "GC" series, which has been developed for domestic and more limited work and is qualitatively inferior to the former and less expensive. GX Series GC Series HONDA GX Series engines are regarded as "THE BEST ENGINES ON THE MARKET". Petrol engine-driven air compressors can run for a whole day, so they need reliable and durable engines. On the other hand, air compressors not fitted with Honda engines, almost always mount affordable Chinese engines (recognisable by their unknown brand names).

The highly professional CHINOOK head is of the highest quality, intended for extremely heavy and continuous use.
The outstanding durability of this cylinder head is given by several factors: one of which is the material from which it is made. In fact, this type of cylinder head is built entirely in
cast iron, a material characterised by its excellent resistance and durability. The two-stage type head. The very low number of revolutions of the pumping unit. The presence of three cooling manifolds. In fact, there is no other air compressor on the market with such a capacity for cooling the pumped air.
Thanks to its high air production capacity of 900 litres/min, this CHINOOK head guarantees the operation of 4 olive harvesters, 10 pruning shears or 2 pneumatic chainsaws.
Its two-stage head is equipped with two cylinders connected in series, in which the air is compressed gradually to the final pressure. Between the stages, the compressed air is cooled. This improves efficiency, allowing higher pressures than with a single-stage compressor, making it one of the best compressor heads on the market today.
Three cooling manifolds
The CHINOOK cylinder head is the only one in its class with three cooling manifolds, two on one side and one on the other, next to the air filter. This means that there is no other engine-driven air compressor in this category that cools the pumped air like this model.The cooling of the pumped air is therefore able to considerably improve the efficiency of the compressor itself.
The air, when pumped by the compressor head, is deposited in the tank at a very high temperature.
For this reason, the more the air tends to cool, the more the condensate tends to separate and deposit itself in the bottom of the tank (which must therefore be drained at the end of each day with the appropriate valve). The introduction of pre-cooled air from the manifolds means that the formation of condensate is considerably reduced. The absence or reduced presence of humidity in the air that operate the equipment (olive harvesters, pruning shears, chainsaws) will drastically reduce the problems of freezing inside these tools, resulting in greater operating efficiency and durability over the years. Extremely low revolutions of the head
The large size of the head means that a very low speed is required for the production of 900 L/min of pumped air. The extremely low rpm of the pumping unit is one of the reasons for the extremely long life of this air compressor. This drastically reduces the wear of its components.

The reduction ratio of the number of revolutions is obtained by the pulleys of different diameter that are assembled to the motor and to the head unit respectively.
The degree of professionalism and more generally the life of the compressor is largely determined by the number of revolutions per minute of the head.The lower the rpm, the longer the life of the compressor.
Cast iron pulley.
Centrifugal clutch system
Mounted on the crankshaft pulley. When the automatic throttle sends the engine to idle speed (i.e. when the tanks are full), the centrifugal clutch is deactivated by automatically stopping the crankshaft pulley, which begins to turn according to a 'freewheel' system. The belt than stops rotating and the cylinder head comes to a complete stop. At this stage, consumption and cylinder head wear are practically reduced to zero.
Automatic throttle
One of the few machines on the market to be equipped with this device. Thanks to this intelligent system, the engine automatically adjusts its level of acceleration according to the air absorption of the equipment being used. When the use of equipment is interrupted, the engine will idle and when the equipment is reactivated, the engine will accelerate just enough to guarantee the production of the air necessary for its operation.

The two tanks give the engine-driven air compressor two advantages compared to other air compressors equipped with a single tank: a) greater air stock b) greater air cooling and, consequently, more efficient separation of the condensation from the air that then operates the equipment (a feature reinforced by the presence of three cooling manifolds on the head).
