Description

Side flail mower with arm for tractor

The HEAVY-DUTY AgriEuro THL A-PS 160 side flail mower with arm is an entirely Italian machine with an excellent quality and components.

This model represents the maximum level of flexibility of the flail mowers, in fact, the (totally hydraulic) movement is both horizontal and vertical. It can be used to clean street edges, banks and moats where it is requested that the flail mower works sideways to the tractor or even in vertical for the hedge and bush cutting.

  • Ideal for municipal words, ditches, embankmets and inclined lands in general.

The hydraulic side shift is carried out by two sturdy pistons and the side transmission is made by 4 belts. Balanced electronic dynamics of the rotor and Comer gearbox with free wheel.

TECHNICAL DETAILS (in summary):

  • Real working width: 160 cm
  • Real width occupied (with side skids assembled): 174 cm
  • Weight: 600 kg

STANDARD EQUIPMENT (in summary):

  • Universal 3 point hitch of 1st category
  • Boxed frame with anti-noise system
  • Steel toothed hammer flails with M20 bolts
  • Counter-blade blades
  • Rear roller with large diameter
  • Cardan shaft T60-120 cv L800 "Made in Italy by Comer"
  • Rotation mechanisms on hardened steel bushings (Pcm)

Side belt transmission and reduction gearbox group

Big size oil bath reduction gearbox group, original made by COMER. The outer body is moulded, while the inner gear made of tempered steel.

Side 4 big section belts transmission (the most part of the flail mowers on market have a 3 belt transmission)

Belt protection side shield, with optimized dimension: only 10 cm depth 4 big section belts. This kind of side shield save room on the product’s total width making it smallest product on market compared with their working width. Considering the room taken from the slides the total flail mowers width is only 14 cm more than the cutting width!!

Greaser side transmission particular, easy to access from a dedicated opening

Cutting tools: toothed hammer flails

Nr. of toothed hammer flails on standard equipment: 12

Brand new toothed hammer flails.

They are the heaviest hammer flails on market (the most common are up to 1,6 kg).

The toothed hammer flails are more sturdy and heavy than the common flat flails. They allow even the wood and small stones crunching, not only grass and straw. This is possible also thanks to their three strong "teeth" able to easily break and pass over them. They are firmly fixed to the frame by means of a 20 mm diameter and 150 mm length tempered steel bolt. The bolt dimensions make impossible it can be broken if hit (the 90% of flail mowers on market have the hammer flails fixed by means of 16 mm diameter bolts). The hammer flail connection features 90 mm width.

Provided with double counter-blades bar. It is opposite to the hammer flails rotation with a counter-blade function for a fine crunching.

Focus on the hammer flails trajectory: very close to the counter-blades sharp edge.

Rotor, reinforced hammer flails supports, side bearings

High thickness rotor. It can resist to many years job and accidental hits.

It is electronically balanced.

Molded steel resistant hammer flails support brackets. Support brackets and rotor give a good solidity to the flail mower
Moreover, rotor is assembled on the steel side support and are provided with highly professional swivelling C roller bearings with double retaining double lips rings.
The roller bearings represent the most professional and reliable technology on the flail mowers field.

High thickness steel double skin frame with double counter-blades row

High thickness double skin frame (double shell). The two shells are one laying over the other one and this makes the equipment sturdiest than the ones with a standard frame. This fail mover is indestructible even in hostile conditions. Resistant even to medium-sized stones, shrubs and the underbrush

Nr. 02 counter-blades rows on the under-shell. This is the biggest innovation on a flail mower. The 3 tips trajectory of the hammer flail perfectly fits the counter-blades when passing over them. This means that all the material involved in this rotational system is “PULVERIZED”. Hammer-flail passes through the double counter blades row more than 30 times per second! Fragmentation capacity is 3 or 4 times more than the traditional flail mowers provided with flat hammer flails and not provided with the double intersection counter blades rows.

Awesome visible results, mostly with grass, branches and pruning residuals mulching. On a common flail mower the hammer flail, when strikes a branch while running, sections it no more than in two pieces, sometimes leaving it intact behind. On this machinery, it is leaded from the hammer flails inside the counter-blades rows that thinly crumble it.

Hydraulic side and vertical shift

Side and vertical movement actioned by means of 2 cylinders. Provided with four fast linkage tubes to be connected to the tractor’s hydraulic joints.

It is a very sturdy side shift system with flexible arms and rotation mechanisms on hardened steel bushings (Pcm).

Focus on the locking valve of the hydraulic piston. This ensures that flail mower maintains the right position when tractor is moving.

The flail mower can work up to 90° vertical upwards and -65° downwards.

Stabilizer accessories - rear roller - 3 points linkage

Standard supplied rear roller with height adjustment.

Focus on the big bearing with cast iron plate for roller fixing

Focus on the side steel support for the roller with holes for the height adjustment.

Standard supplied side support skids

Lay foot.

Front protection flaps made of folded steel .

Special side shield styling and other particulars

Special side shield styling , particular, specifically designed to avoid that any trunk or obstacles may damage the flail mower or tractor if hit.

Remarkable how the skid is designed as an integral part of the shield and not protruding (not even a bolt) that may represent a stumbling block.

Recommendations for Use - Tractor-mounted Fixed Flail Mowers

To ensure correct operation, a longer service life and safe working conditions, it is essential to use the tractor-mounted flail mower in accordance with the instructions set out in the user manual and the machine’s technical specifications. Incorrect use may result in premature wear of components, reduced performance or damage not covered by the warranty.

Before starting work, always check that the tractor is compatible with the flail mower by verifying the required power, hitch type and intended operating conditions. Correct matching of the machine and the tractor ensures optimum performance and prevents the transmission from being overloaded.

  • Use the flail mower exclusively on suitable surfaces: the machine is designed for grass shredding, wild vegetation, plant residues and materials compatible with the machine’s category. Avoid contact with unintended objects such as stones, metal, plastic or other foreign bodies.
  • Adjust the working height correctly: maintaining an adequate distance from the ground reduces the impact on the cutting units and limits excessive stress on the machine’s structure.
  • Do not operate the machine where there are hidden obstacles or unsuitable ground conditions: ditches, stumps, exposed roots, loose stones or uneven ground can cause sudden impacts and damage to the cutting parts or transmission components.
  • Do not use the flail mower for operations other than shredding: the machine must not be used for earthmoving, ground levelling or other applications not specified by the manufacturer.
  • Always adjust the forward speed to suit the working conditions: excessive speed can reduce the quality of the shredding, increase vibrations and subject the machine to stresses greater than those for which it was designed.
  • Avoid using the machine on excessively damp material: wet grass or particularly damp vegetation can cause material to build up inside the machine, reducing its efficiency.
  • Do not force the tractor forward: if the rotor slows down, vibrations increase or cutting capacity decreases, speed must be reduced and the work adapted to the conditions of the ground and vegetation.
  • Check the condition of the cutting components regularly: worn, damaged or missing blades, hammers or other cutting elements can compromise the machine’s operation and increase vibrations during use.
  • Carry out periodic checks and routine maintenance: check that components are correctly tightened, inspect the condition of the transmission components and ensure the machine is generally clean to maintain its efficiency and safety.

Use of the power take-off (PTO):

The tractor’s power take-off (PTO ) must be used in accordance with the rotational speed specified by the flail mower manufacturer. An incorrect rotational speed may compromise the machine’s operation, causing overheating, accelerated wear or excessive stress on mechanical components.

When attaching and detaching the flail mower, the power take-off must always be disengaged and the tractor switched off. It is also necessary to check that the PTO shaft is correctly installed and has sufficient clearance to move freely while working.
