The Kärcher LMO 36-40 is a hand-pushed battery-powered lawn mower, ideal for caring greenery without the size and weight of a spark ignition engine and without the power source wire.

Lightweight and easy to handle, this lawn mower is powered by a 36V battery motor (battery NOT included!)

It has 3 cutting systems: grass collection mowing (50 L grass collector), rear discharge and mulching, which leaves the cut grass on the lawn to fertilize the ground better.

The foam grip guarantees a firm grip and the buttons on both sides of the handlebar ease the use of the machine.

This lawn mower can mow up to the edge of the lawn thanks to the combs that capture automatically the grass which is growing along the edge.

The handle can be adjusted according to the requirements, while the carrying handle and its light weight make the machine easy to carry.

The housing of the 36V battery is placed in the centre of the frontal part of the machine.

Simply lift the cover and remove the battery to recharge it.

The 36V lithium-ion battery can be recharged at any time (just like the batteries of modern smartphones, no memory effect) so they are always ready to use. It lasts on average 30 times more than a common battery. The battery is equipped with a convenient charging indicator and an activation button to prevent unwanted turning on of the machine.

Battery-powered electric motor benefits:

• The lawn mower is more reliable than a petrol one, thanks to its electric motor. It hasn’t a spark plug, filters, oil dipstick, carburetors, etc ... or components which can cause problems.

The machine is a traditional 3 in 1 lawn mower, with rear discharge, grass collection mowing and mulching.

GRASS COLLECTION MOWING:

This system allows to collect the grass in the 50 L grass collector. The grass collector is equipped with a comfortable handle for removal.

REAR DISCHARGE SYSTEM:

This system allows to mow without using the grass collector, discharging the grass clippings directly from the back of the lawn mower.

MULCHING CUTTING SYSTEM:

To convert the machine for the mulching cut, mount the mulching plug supplied, so the lawn mower will crush grass clippings and drop the directly on the ground. The grass clippings will break down into nutrients and water for the lawn fertilizing it.

Centralized cutting height adjustment: it is possible to adjust simultaneously the 4 wheels in a synchronized way with a single lever.

The two knobs placed at the base of the handlebar can be used for the adjustment of the height.

The actual mowing area may be significantly lower than the value declared by the manufacturer, which is calculated under standard operating conditions with dry grass of medium to low height. When cutting tall or wild grass, not maintained in an English lawn style, as well as grass that is damp or particularly dense, the workload increases and the motor requires higher energy consumption, resulting in a reduction of the effective battery autonomy.

The value declared by the manufacturer is instead fully reliable under favorable mowing conditions, namely on a regularly maintained lawn with dry grass that is not excessively tall and not wild, corresponding to the standard conditions used in laboratory testing.

When mowing is carried out regularly, cutting a limited and well-maintained layer of grass, preferably in the afternoon when the lawn is almost free of moisture, operating performance may be in line with the declared figures and, in some cases, even higher than stated by the manufacturer.

The cutting mode also affects energy consumption: grass collection and mulching require greater blade effort compared to rear discharge. The condition of the blade also plays a role, as a dull edge increases friction and reduces the number of square meters that can be effectively mowed on a single charge.

Other factors depend on ground conditions. Slopes and uneven terrain require higher torque, and activation of the drive system (if present) leads to continuous energy absorption, significantly reducing effective working time. Non-ideal temperatures, battery age, and repeated restarts or tight maneuvers further reduce the available autonomy.

Under non-optimal operating conditions, the difference between the declared mowing area and the actual workable surface therefore originates from the increased load placed on the motor, blade, and drive system.

The lawn mower is designed and intended exclusively for cutting grass in garden areas (and not on other types of terrain). The surface must be level, free from irregularities, stones, or other solid objects, and covered with maintained lawn grass (therefore, not uncultivated or spontaneous vegetation). Grass should be cut regularly and must not be allowed to grow beyond 25–30 cm, as most lawn mowers are no longer capable of cutting at this height. Slopes exceeding 15% (equivalent to 9°) must be avoided, except when using 4x4 models.

For heavier-duty tasks involving spontaneous vegetation, grass taller than the above-mentioned limits, or rougher surfaces than a garden, please consider alternative product categories such as Petrol Flail Mowers or Brush Cutters.

Furthermore, grass must only be cut when both the lawn and the underlying soil are completely dry. Mowing should be carried out exclusively in dry weather, well away from periods of rain or irrigation, and preferably in the afternoon, when the grass is no longer affected by morning humidity. Wet grass tends to bend under the blades, which reduces cutting efficiency, increases the risk of clogging inside the deck, and subjects the engine to excessive strain.
