The Italyco K2500 dryer is designed to ensure that the compressed air is of high quality and free of impurities, thus preventing the formation of condensation inside the tanks and protecting the machines from potential damage caused by moisture and steam.
The air sucked in by the compressors contains gases, water vapour and solid contaminants; without an effective treatment system, these can compromise the functionality of the machines. Moisture in the air, which tends to increase with temperature, can condense, causing damage to both the compressor and connected equipment. For example, a compressor operating at 7 bar and a capacity of 200 l/s, under conditions of 20 °C and 80% relative humidity, can introduce up to 10 litres of water per hour into the system.
The drying process of the Italyco K2500 allows large quantities of water to be effectively condensed and separated, thus reducing the risk of condensation in the tanks. In addition, the post-treatment air heating prevents further condensation, while the heat exchange between incoming and outgoing air optimises the system's energy consumption.
