The Blackstone 100 mm foot valve, also known as check valve, is a low-pressure flat valve.
A foot valve is a non-return valve and it's connected to the suction filter at the end of the foot of the suction tube. The check valve prevents the suction tube from running dry after the pump (or home water system) has stopped working.

Mounting tips
The foot valve should be at a sufficient distance from the bottom of the sump-pump (so that no mud is sucked in) and from the lowest level of water suction (so that no air is sucked in).
