Rotary Tillers: what is their function?
The
tractor mounted rotary tiller is used for soil tillage, in particular for crushing and mixing the soil.
The tiller can be used for primary tillage either on unploughed soil or on already ploughed soil for secondary tillage to prepare the seedbed; tractor mounted rotary tiller operation can be performed instead of ploughing, since it can refine the soil even in the presence of crop residues, avoiding additional work.
Tractor mounted rotary tillers can be used immediately after sowing, to remove weeds.

- Light tractor mounted rotary tillers with manual shift: the machines in this category are equipped with convenient manual shift, available in three different widths (105 cm, 125 cm and 145 cm), with a weight ranging from 150 up to 180 kg depending on the model. Compared to standard tractor mounted rotary tillers with fixed linkage, thanks to this displacement device they can be used on the side of the tractor especially in vineyards, orchards and olive groves, allowing best results since it can come closer to the plants. Their light structure makes them suitable for low-to-medium work, recommended for tractor powers from 15 HP up to a maximum of 40 HP; despite being part of the light series, the high technical level of these tractor mounted rotary tillers, their extraordinary efficiency and robustness of the machine guarantee excellent performance. The standard lower rotor is equipped with 4 hoes per flange.
- Medium tractor mounted rotary tillers with mechanical side shift: this category features medium-sized machines, equipped with convenient mechanical screw side shift, easily operated through a crank handle. Three widths available (132 cm, 150 cm and 168 cm), weight ranging from 245 up to 275 kg depending on the model. Compared to standard tractor mounted rotary tillers with fixed linkage, thanks to this shifting device they can be used on the side of the tractor especially in vineyards, orchards and olive groves. Their robust medium structure makes them suitable for medium-heavy jobs, recommended for tractors ranging from a minimum of 25 HP up to a maximum of 55 HP. The reinforced lower rotor is equipped with 6 hoes per flange, so as to obtain extraordinary soil shredding.Â
- Medium-heavy rotary tillers with fixed linkage: in this category you can find medium-heavy rotary tillers, equipped with standard fixed three-point linkage. Available in two different widths (186 cm and 204 cm), with a weight of approx. 350 kg. Equipped with a quite robust medium structure that makes them suitable also for high-intensity jobs, they are recommended for tractors ranging from a minimum of 45 HP up to a maximum of 75 HP (however, use on excessively stony ground is not recommended). The reinforced lower rotor is equipped with 6 hoes per flange, so as to obtain extraordinary soil shredding
- Heavy rotary tillers with hydraulic side shift:Â this category features heavy rotary tillers with hydraulic side shift, suitable for high-intensity jobs. Their efficiency and robustness provides excellent performance.
